Talk on Peak Oil by Ken Neal, Chairman of Transition West Berkshire, followed by screening of "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil" - an inspirational film about how Cuba dealt with its own "Peak Oil" imposed following the collapse of the Soviet Union. This film shows how communities pulled together, created solutions, and ultimately thrived despite the lack of cheap fossil fuels that it previously enjoyed.

Transition West Bekshire will be looking at how local food co-ops can help local people beat soaring food prices, with organic wholefoods, fresh fruit and vegetables and eco-friendly household products at near wholesale prices, sold through markets held in neighbourhood community centres near you.
Also, Vinnie McCan from Transition Maidenhead will tell us about plans for the first permanent farmer's market in the Thames Valley and their work on establishing a Community Supported Agriculture scheme.
