Transition West Berkshire currently has a Steering Group comprising a growing number of willing and enthusiastic individuals. We welcome additional people and the skills and enthusiams that they bring to the Steering Group. All that we ask is to keep Transition West Berkshire politically neutral, and avoid any potential conflicts of interest.
As we begin the process of working with individual communities to develop their Energy Descent Action Plan, we envisage that additional Transition Towns will form to progress the various initiatives within each ocmmunity. Transition West Berkshire hopes to act as an umbrella group, supporting each of the new Transition Towns and sharing experiences and resources. One of the key concepts of Transition Towns is that the original Steering Group must plan for their own demise. This happens when there are 3 or 4 individual Transition Towns, at which point membership of the Transition West Berkshire Steering Group will be reviewed.
"The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between the two, the leader must become a servant and a debtor." Max DePree
